Although the work presented in this website is mainly a product of my personal efforts, there are institutions (and people who make them) without which this body of work would hardly be realized.
Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates New York helped me launch the dedicated Computational Group within the office and also supported my research within its renowned practice. They also let me teach at Pratt Institute which enabled me to build bridges between concerns of profession and the academia.
Department of Architecture at Istanbul Bilgi University had infinite trust in me: I directed the undergraduate school for two years. I instituted and coordinated the core undergraduate courses as well as scripting and fabrication courses for the graduate school. The material presented in the “teaching” section is the outcome of these courses. I also would like to thank all my studio partners who helped me advance my teaching approach and who supported me critically in mind but unconditionally in soul.
I keep collaborating with architects [such as founders or partners of Cinici, Erkal and UrasXDilekci Architectural Offices] who are in favor of discussing the potential of emergent design methodologies beyond their well-established design culture. Their names are indicated where applicable, in the slides of the project presentations in the “professional” section.
Last but not the least, following my sponsored SMArchS Degree ’06 in Computation Massachusetts Institute of Technology Design and Computation Faculty keeps supporting me in my PhD studies via the Presidential Fellowship granted in 2011.
